SoundOff Signal is a leading technology company providing vehicle LED lighting, control systems, and electronic warning solutions for the emergency, amber, government, and performance lighting markets.
Their products can involve a combination of standard and configured parts, which requires a system capable to handle thousands of configurations depending on the product and/or client.
Challenge
The key project goals were to:
- Rebuild their old product configurator on Salesforce
- Create a B2B web store that allows customers to configure lighting products according to their needs
- Handle related migration, synchronization, and integrations
Solution
Working in partnership with the SoundOff Signal team, Forte leveraged Salesforce CPQ capabilities to set up the product configurator and create a B2B store where customers can configure required lighting products quickly and accurately.
Key deliverables
Product configurator
- Allows admins to create a product questionnaire
- Modifies the UI/UX of the end user based on the needs of the product
- Visualizes the light bar based on provided answers
- Uses custom JS code to add dynamics to configuration (auto fill in the question, layout, data)
Data migration & synchronization
- Moved configurations from old system to Salesforce
- Adapted the old data model to a new one (scripting, manual configuration)
- Built import/export functionality for configurations
- Synced product images and files with the Bynder Digital Asset Manager
Integration with Made2Manage ERP
- Item master info on configured products (codes, instructions, price (discounted), stick figure (visual reference), required parts, and build steps) transfers to the ERP
New B2B Commerce store
- Online catalog and info-rich product pages
- Configuring lighting products (light bulb colors, blink frequency, light movement, layout, and car hooks)
- Configuration interface with cues to reduce errors
- Stick figure generated to let the production line know how the product is made and which parts and materials are required to build the product
- Personalized pricing
Results & added value
The SoundOff Signal dealer portal went live after 8 months of development and a couple of months of training and crafting the configuration for more than 18 light bars.
