Applied Motion Products designs, manufactures and sells electric motors and motion control systems used in factory automation, solar, and high-tech applications.

Challenge

The California-based manufacturer was looking to move to Lightning and enhance the customer experience by setting up a modern storefront where customers can purchase motion control products, review product info, and request quotes.

The key project goals were to:

  • Transition the existing store from CloudCraze to B2B Commerce Lightning
  • Adjust the data model and handle the data migration
  • Improve customer experience

Solution

Applied Motion turned to forténext to help make the move from Salesforce CloudCraze to Lightning easier, implement enhancements, and collaborate with their internal team responsible for SAP integration.

forténext helped Applied Motion transition their store from CloudCraze to Lightning Experience, modify the data model to suit the new system, revamp the store design and functionality.

Migration & integration

Date model conversion

  • The existing data model was analyzed and recreated in B2B Lightning with the required adjustments.

Data migration

  • Customer and product data from the CloudCraze-based system was modified to suit the new data model and transitioned to Lightning.

ERP integration

  • Customers, orders, invoices, inventory, and quotes are synced between SAP and Salesforce in real time.

Modernized catalog

  • Modern UI; PLP with a grid view and product info organized into easy-to-read product cards; PDP designed to make it easy to find product info and buy compatible products & accessories on the same page.

Quote requests & management

  • Requesting and tracking quotes for multiple products made easy for both registered customers and guests. Streamlined workflows for internal quote processing and management.

Refined shopping cart

  • Customers can easily view all the order details, add/remove items, and check inventory availability in the cart.

Optimized checkout

  • Effortless shipping & billing address management, auto-suggest address correction by Google, quick shipping cost & tax calculations.
